Flake Epoxy Flooring

Our most popular system colorful vinyl flakes broadcast into a pigmented base, then sealed with a heavy-duty clear topcoat.

The customer favorite

Beautiful, tough, and timeless

Flake (or chip) epoxy is the perfect blend of style and strength. A pigmented base coat is broadcast with colored vinyl flakes to refusal, then locked under a thick, wear-resistant topcoat.

The result: a textured, slip-resistant, ultra-durable floor with hundreds of color blends to choose from, perfect for garages, basements, mudrooms, and commercial showrooms.

Why flake?

Why homeowners and shops keep choosing it

Flake epoxy is the most popular system we install, and once you walk on one, it’s easy to see why. Thousands of vinyl chips are broadcast into a wet pigmented base, then locked under a clear armor topcoat. The result is a floor with subtle texture for natural slip resistance, real visual depth, and the kind of finish that hides every speck of dust instead of showing it.

It outlasts tile, paint, and bare concrete by a wide margin because it’s chemically bonded to the slab. Hot tires, road salt, oil drips, brake fluid, and the everyday abuse of a family garage or busy shop floor simply don’t faze it. When it does need attention, a mop and warm water are usually all it takes.

Best of all, you get to design it. Hundreds of decorative flake blends are available, in clean greys, warm earth tones, bold blues, even custom corporate colors. Every Prime Epoxy flake floor ships with a 2-year written workmanship warranty.

OUR FLAKE EPOXY PROCESS

Every flake epoxy floor starts with proper surface preparation.

We mechanically grind the concrete to remove dirt, weak concrete, old coatings, and surface imperfections while creating the ideal profile for maximum coating adhesion. This step is what gives the system its long-term durability and strong bond to the concrete.

Once the surface is fully prepared, we apply a penetrating epoxy primer that bonds deep into the concrete and creates the foundation for the entire flooring system.

Next comes the epoxy base coat. While the coating is still active, decorative vinyl flakes are fully broadcast across the surface to create texture, slip resistance, added durability, and the signature flake finish that gives the floor its bold modern appearance.

After the flakes are set, the floor is scraped and cleaned to create an even seamless surface before applying the final protective topcoat. We finish the system with a premium polyaspartic or urethane clear coat that protects against scratches, stains, chemicals, UV exposure, hot tire pickup, and everyday wear.

The final result?

A durable, seamless, low-maintenance flake epoxy floor built to look sharp and perform hard for years.
